Big coaching news for Rivertown

Rivertown Hockey has made two pivotal coaching appointments for the 2025 season, marking a significant step forward for the Rivertown organization.

Tom Gibbons has agreed to be the head coach for the 2017 Bronzebacks, bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience that ranges from high school to the Mite level. Gibbons is recognized for his balanced approach, combining a firm coaching style with genuine care for his players. His commitment to the organization is evident in his dedication to its foundational principles, which prioritize skating, vision—encompassing creativity, hockey sense, and playmaking—and competitiveness, in that order.

Cody Corbett has been named the head coach for the 2015 Bronzebacks, a role that aligns with his established reputation within both the LY and Rivertown Hockey communities. Corbett's journey in hockey is well-documented and serves as an inspiration to many players. In addition to leading the 2015 Bronzebacks, he will maintain his position as the head coach of the highly skilled 2013 Muskies team, ensuring continuity and development across multiple age groups within the organization. His dual role reflects his commitment to fostering talent and promoting a strong hockey culture within Rivertown.

The organization is poised for further announcements regarding additional coaching appointments in the near future, indicating a proactive approach to building a robust coaching staff. These strategic decisions are aimed at enhancing the overall development of players at all levels, ensuring that Rivertown Hockey remains a competitive force in the region. As the 2025 season approaches, the excitement surrounding these appointments underscores the organization's dedication to nurturing talent and instilling a strong sense of teamwork and love of the game among its players.
